ESX vs QBCore vs QBox: which FiveM scripts fit
Most “this script does not work” tickets are a framework mismatch, not a FiveM bug. Pick the city’s core, then buy resources for that ecosystem.
If you are stocking a FiveM script store for your city (or buying from one), the first decision is not the pretty HUD: it is the framework. ESX, QBCore and QBox handle players, jobs and inventory differently. A resource built for one does not “just install” on the others.
Quick comparison
| ESX | QBCore | QBox | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typical profile | Classic EU / Spanish cities, lots of legacy | International RP, large docs and community | QBCore owners who want a newer core |
| Inventory | Depends on the pack (ox, esx, custom) | qb-inventory / ox / others | The QBox stack / ox |
| FiveM scripts | Huge catalogue, uneven quality | Huge catalogue, watch for leaks | Fewer options, more care with bridges |
| Pick it when | You already run ESX and staff know it | You start from scratch or from QB packs | You are on QBCore and the old core hurts |
FiveM scripts for ESX
ESX is still the default for many Spanish-speaking cities. If server.cfg already loads es_extended, buy scripts marked ESX. “Port this QBCore one to ESX” is custom work, not an ensure. FireCorp groups the ESX catalogue on its own landing.
FiveM scripts for QBCore
QBCore is what English searchers type (“qbcore scripts”). Jobs, housing and MDTs usually assume qb-core and its player object. If your city is QB, do not blindly convert ESX legacy: it is cheaper to buy native or pay for a clean port.
FiveM scripts for QBox
QBox is not a coat of paint. Base resources change. A script sold as “QBCore” may run, break on player data, or need a bridge. If you are migrating, write down inventory, appearance and persistence before you buy half a store. We mark native QBox vs bridge on the product page.
How to pick scripts without burning money
- Freeze the framework. Do not mix cores “just to try”.
- List inventory, target, voice and fuel. FiveM scripts lean on those.
- Buy one, install it, measure. Then the next.
- If the catalogue does not cover your unique job, a custom script is cheaper than three badly patched leaks.
Request a custom FiveM script ESX, QBCore, QBox or standalone.
